Description Site Manager Full Time, full Year Working hours: 37 Hours per Week, 8am - 4pm with occasional Shift Work £33,699.00 - £36,363.00 Permanent Are you a dedicated professional ready to ensure the seamless operation and security of our academy environment? Join us as a Site Manager, taking a lead role in health and safety management and overseeing the day-to-day operational effectiveness of the site. This position is crucial for maintaining a safe, clean, and secure learning environment for students and staff, relying on strong organisation and maintenance expertise to supervise the site and cleaning team. Outwood Academy Hindley is seeking to appoint an experienced candidate to help us provide a safe and progressive environment for learning. The successful candidate will be a strong leader to our Academy Site Team and will provide efficient and effective support to the Business Manager and Principal. You and the site team will be focused on creating a culture of success, via positive and safe learning environments to increase student attainment, achievement and social and emotional development. We are looking for an experienced and exceptional candidate who has experience of delivering statutory compliance, working closely with the Business Manager to develop a project of works to provide a safe and progressive environment for learning. Previous experience of working in a Site/Facilities Manager role is essential. The appointed person will be proficient in health and safety management, organised, with a keen attention to detail. You will have experience of Contractor management including auditing and supervision of contractors, team and colleague working practices. You will have a strong track record of effective budget management and develop a 5-year plan for the premises with the Business Manager and Principal. You will have overall responsibility for the site security, opening and closing of the Academy. Responsibilities The Site Manager is responsible for leading health and safety management across the academy, ensuring the site is safe, secure, and clean for all users. Key duties involve supervising the site and cleaning team, managing the operational works schedule, and prioritising necessary maintenance. You will oversee the opening and closing of premises, manage lettings, and ensure compliance with Health and Safety regulations, including those related to moving furniture. The role requires completing risk assessments, monitoring utilities, and managing minor repairs or external contractor intervention. Additionally, you are responsible for ensuring accurate records are kept of all work carried out, including fire and water safety checks, and implementing robust risk management programmes for Portable Appliance Testing and Legionella. Essential requirements include in-depth knowledge of building and maintenance management, highly developed planning and organisational skills, and the ability to delegate appropriately. You must be able to work well under pressure and manage competing deadlines. The role necessitates the ability to effectively communicate with diverse audiences and use standard ICT packages such as Microsoft Office. Understanding academy child safeguarding procedures is essential. Experience of working in a school environment and a Level 3 NEBOSH or other appropriate technical qualification are desirable.
