What You Will Do
Conduct clinical assessments to ensure patients in custody are fit for detention, interview, transfer, or release.
Manage minor illnesses or injuries, referring more serious conditions as appropriate.
Perform forensic examinations, recording injuries and collecting DNA evidence when required.
Assess the fitness of police officers or staff injured while on duty and provide suitable care.
Collect specimens under relevant legislation and ensure compliance with the Police and Criminal Evidence Act.
Compile and provide written statements within specified timeframes and give oral testimony as required.
Carry out thorough assessments of alcohol and drug intoxication, withdrawal, mental health, and learning disabilities.
Work alongside clinical leads to support the development of medical services and promote company policies such as Equality and Diversity and Information Governance.
