What You Will Do
* Conduct clinical assessments to ensure patients in custody are fit for detention, interview, transfer, or release.
* Manage minor illnesses or injuries, referring more serious conditions as appropriate.
* Perform forensic examinations, recording injuries and collecting DNA evidence when required.
* Assess the fitness of police officers or staff injured while on duty and provide suitable care.
* Collect specimens under relevant legislation and ensure compliance with the Police and Criminal Evidence Act.
* Compile and provide written statements within specified timeframes and give oral testimony as required.
* Carry out thorough assessments of alcohol and drug intoxication, withdrawal, mental health, and learning disabilities.
* Work alongside clinical leads to support the development of medical services and promote company policies such as Equality and Diversity and Information Governance.
