We are seeking a driven, professional and experienced Programme Manager to join the Clinical Services Transformation Team (CSTT)!
The CSTT has been established to support the delivery of the Bristol NHS Group’s Joint Clinical Strategy (JCS), which aims to deliver care that is seamless, high quality, equitable and sustainable across the Group and for the populations it serves. The CSTT provides the change and programme management support required for the implementation of the JCS.
A key element of the Joint Clinical Strategy is the development of Group Clinical Services, bringing duplicated services across the Trusts to work in collaboratively across the Group. The CSTT has responsibility for overseeing the deployment of the Group Clinical Services transformation programme, through which all 40 duplicated clinical services will make ‘significant progress’by March 2027. This role will support a number of clinical services to achieve this ambition.
The role demands experience of large-scale change programmes, working with senior practitioners and managers, to deliver extensive system change across acute hospitals. As well as demonstrating technical programme management and improvement skills, the individual will be expected to offer innovation and creativity to the projects to fully support the project and programme outcomes. The programme manager will need to be politically astute and strategically aware.
The Programme Manager will be expected to:
1. Provide strategic management and leadership to the projects/programmes of work being undertaken to deliver the JCS vision.
2. Proactively lead a programme of service redesign projects within a workstream to ensure demonstrable and sustainable improvements are fully delivered.
3. Apply complex analysis skills to when designing the rationale for implementing specific service changes.
4. Provide expert advice, guidance and support in service redesign, demonstrating excellence in the application and utilisation of relevant service improvement, transformation, innovation and project management techniques.
5. Lead on service improvement initiatives, and act as a visible champion for change.
6. Ensure transparent reporting of programme progress.
7. Offer guidance, support and leadership to the projects and programme.
8. Proactively engage and work collaboratively with stakeholders and internal teams.
9. Work closely with commissioning leads, HR, OD, transformation leads, finance, business intelligence and performance to ensure the development of robust and innovative service improvement methods and embedded project management processes.
10. Ensure project and programme information is properly managed and best practice is shared across all teams.
11. Promote the empowerment of patients and carers, prevention, patient activation and behaviour change, digital and innovation in system redesign.
