You will be responsible for providing specialist Fire Safety advice, Fire Risk Assessment, Fire Door Surveys and formulating safety solutions to ensure buildings and operations comply with all current fire safety regulations and best practices. The role involves conducting risk assessments, fire door surveys and ensuring clients meet legal obligations for fire prevention and protection.
This is a Hybrid role with time split between attending client sites and working from home.
Responsibilities
* Conduct fire risk assessments in accordance with relevant legislation, standards, and guidelines, on a variety of premises, including Residential, Commercial, Schools and construction sites
* Carry out fire door inspections in accordance with relevant legislation, standards and guidelines.
* Giving general and technical fire safety advice in line with current legislation and guidance to clients
* Producing fire safety documentation for clients, including but not limited to, fire management plans, emergency evacuation plan, PEEPS
* Undertake site inspections and audits to identify hazards and recommend mitigation measures.
* Advise clients on fire detection, alarm, suppression and evacuation systems.
* Produce emergency evacuation diagrams
* Administrative tasks relative to the role, including but not limited to booking and scheduling site visits, admin of fire risk assessments and fire door survey software
* Working in line with the organisations BAFE SP205 certification
* Deliver fire safety training and awareness sessions to staff and stakeholders.
* Stay updated with changes in fire safety legislation, codes of practice and industry trends.
* Support clients in achieving and maintaining fire safety compliance
* Maintaining CPD as required by professional memberships, BAFE SP205 and Fire Risk Assessor registers
Qualifications & Experience
* L4 or advanced qualification in Fire Risk Assessments (preferred).
* Experience of carrying out fire risk assessments to a PAS-79/BS 9792:2025 methodology
* Professional membership of the Institution of Fire Engineers (IFE) or equivalent (desirable).
* Tier 2 IFSM (working towards Tier 3) or IFE fire risk assessor or willingness and ability to achieve
* Meet the skills, knowledge, behaviours and experience outlined within BS 8674:2025 for an Intermediate, working towards Advanced level fire risk assessor. Advanced level advantageous.
* Proven experience in fire safety consultancy, risk assessment and fire door surveys
* Qualification and experience in passive fire protection surveys an advantage, but not essential
* Strong knowledge of fire safety legislation, fire safety guidance and British/International Standards.
