We are seeking an experienced and driven MEP Commissioning Lead to oversee and manage all aspects of mechanical, electrical, and public health commissioning on data centre projects. Working for a leading main contractor, the successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring our mission-critical facilities meet design intent, operational readiness, and client expectations.
SALARY: £100,000 - £120,000 + Car Allowance + Travel + Package
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead and manage the end-to-end MEP commissioning process on large-scale data centre projects.
* Develop and maintain commissioning plans, procedures, schedules, and reports in line with project milestones and client requirements.
* Coordinate with internal teams, subcontractors, consultants, vendors, and client representatives to ensure seamless execution of commissioning activities.
* Review and approve commissioning documentation including method statements, test scripts, and commissioning reports.
* Chair commissioning meetings and represent the commissioning function in project coordination and progress meetings.
* Ensure MEP systems are commissioned in compliance with contractual obligations, safety regulations, QA/QC standards, and international best practices (ASHRAE, Uptime Institute, etc.).
* Oversee FAT, SAT, IST and black building testing as required.
* Troubleshoot and resolve issues that arise during the commissioning process.
* Provide technical leadership and mentoring to junior engineers and technicians.
* Support project handover by ensuring all commissioning documentation, O&M manuals, and training materials are delivered and accepted.
Requirements:
* 8+ years of experience in MEP commissioning with at least 3 years in the data centre sector.
* Proven experience working for a main contractor or tier 1 construction firm.
* Deep understanding of MEP systems, including HVAC, electrical distribution, UPS, generators, fire protection, BMS, and life safety systems.
* Excellent planning, coordination, and leadership skills.
* Strong stakeholder management and communication abilities.
* Familiarity with commissioning software and tools is advantageous.
