Job Description:

Summary: The role involves providing technical front-line support to industrial process/clean water treatment operations across the UK, monitoring process performance, fault finding, and providing site technical guidance with significant technical capabilities to understand and implement process changes to maintain performance.

The Technical Process Water Specialist will serve as NSI’s primary on-site technical presence for operations teams and will be required to travel within a set region and occasionally across the UK.

The role also includes leading and supporting water-related projects and business development opportunities throughout the UK, conducting site-specific feasibility studies, and developing process improvement plans within the territories. The specialist will ensure best practices are shared and received from the O&M performance teams within the region.

The specialist will be supported by Site, Area, and Territory Managers, as well as other specialists from the Technical Development Team and company services such as Engineering Solutions, Service & Upgrades, and iConsult. They should be an experienced Water Treatment/Chemical/Process Engineer, using their knowledge to improve treatment efficiencies, investigate process issues, and support operations with technical and process matters.

Duties & Responsibilities:

* Promote safety leadership in all aspects of the business.
* Uphold company policies, procedures, legislative requirements, and embody company values.
* Possess in-depth process knowledge for fault finding and assessing impacts, risks, and implications of process changes.
* Have site-specific process knowledge to support technical decision-making.
* Monitor daily process performance and provide technical guidance to ensure process performance and risk mitigation.
* Maintain knowledge of site-specific process parameters, KPIs, client requirements, and regulatory compliance.
* Provide front-line support to industrial water treatment operations.
* Focus on operational costs and how process operation influences them.
* Determine when support from O&M performance teams is needed to prevent performance issues.
* Share and receive best practices with O&M teams for contract benefits.
* Analyze risks within long-term site service contracts and manage to minimize them.
* Attend customer review meetings to report on plant optimization, progress, performance, and risks.
* Identify areas where customers could benefit from additional support and provide that support.
* Identify and develop water-related business opportunities in the UK with the Business Development Team.
* Assist other business units in developing specialist water treatment services.
* Review data related to customer water treatment assets to identify performance issues and solutions.
* Develop structured approaches to resolve problems, including risk assessment and success criteria, and deliver plans with operational support.
* Coordinate pilot plant operations, data collection, and presentation.
* Represent NSI in design reviews for new assets and process changes, managing risks and mitigation.
* Contribute to discussions on alternative technologies and process modifications to maximize plant performance.
* Lead by example, deliver business objectives, and collaborate with wider NSI teams.
* Respond to emergencies from a technical perspective.

Required Skills/Qualifications:

* Degree and postgraduate qualification in relevant engineering or water treatment discipline (or significant experience).
* Deep understanding of industrial clean/process water treatment technologies.
* At least 5 years of site-based water treatment experience.
* Knowledge of business strategy development and delivery.
* Ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
* Critical thinking, change leadership, and influencing skills.
* Full clean driving license.
* Desirable: HSQE, leadership, project management, site management, incident investigation, auditing qualifications.

The salary is negotiable based on experience.

Hours: 40 hours/week, Monday to Friday

Company vehicle or car allowance included.

Holidays: 25 days plus statutory days.

Probation: 6 months.
