Job Description
As a Lead Control and Protection Engineer, you will be responsible for the overall requirements, design, implementation, and testing of HVDC control and protection application software. This is a critical role within our team, requiring strong technical expertise and leadership skills.
The successful candidate will have a deep understanding of power systems, including AC and HVDC interactions. Experience with PSCAD and MATLAB-SIMULINK simulation tools is highly desirable. Additionally, knowledge of Agile software development practices and proficiency in Git, Jira, and Confluence are essential for success in this role.
Key responsibilities include:
* Designing and developing event- and rate-driven application software for control and protection systems.
* Leading small projects with low risks and resource requirements.
* Coupling technical expertise with analytical thinking to solve complex problems.
* Mentoring and coaching team members to enhance their skills and performance.
* Participating actively in continuous improvement activities.
Preferred qualifications include an engineering degree in Computer Science or power systems and power electronics subjects, as well as prior experience working in the HVDC industry. A strong written and verbal communication skillset, combined with a can-do attitude, is also essential.
