Overview
Service Engineer (Environmental Services). We are recruiting on behalf of our client for a Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) Service Engineer to deliver technical support across a broad spectrum of engineering, supporting Operations delivery teams and servicing environmental protection equipment. You will contribute to technical proposals/solutions for clients, ensuring delivery meets relevant standards and good practice guidance.
Location and Hours
Covering the area of Airdrie with travel to sites from home. Permanent role, Monday to Friday, 8:00am – 5:00pm. Competitive salary, company van and benefits.
Responsibilities
* Audit sites to ensure compliance with client standards and specifications, client expectations and sound safety practices.
* Promote safety to ensure a safe and professional service.
* Problem solve and resolve issues on site.
* Assist in the delivery of interceptor installations, de-commissioning, and servicing.
* Continually assess and ensure day‑to‑day operations and service delivery are of the highest quality, accuracy and efficiency.
* Prepare scope of works documents, risk assessments and method statements.
* Operate company vehicles (where suitably qualified).
* Prepare estimates and proposals to clients following site surveys.
* Complete all works paperwork and submit in a timely manner to depot and group management.

About You
* Basic knowledge of single and three-phase motors.
* Knowledge of separator/interceptor systems. Understanding of relevant standards and good practice (BS EN 858-2:2003 Separator systems for light liquids and BS EN 1825 for Grease separators is preferable).
* Basic knowledge of electrical control panels.
* Knowledge of Sewage Treatment plants and pumping stations.
* Experience issuing and completing RAMS documentation.
* Sound engineering knowledge.
* Willingness to work in an environment of change; dealing with emergency works is essential.
* Flexible approach to working hours, travel and working days.
* Computer literate with Word, Excel and Email; able to prepare and present reports using these applications.
* Full UK driving licence.
* Willingness to undertake additional training as required to meet depot/group needs.
* Right to Work in the UK.
Desirable to Hold
* 18th Edition wiring regulations - BS7671.
* Electrical or mechanical competencies - Level 2/3/NVQ or equivalent.
