Following the success of Plymouth Woolwell Vets for Pets, practice owner Jo Manby has now taken on the ownership of Plymouth Vets for Pets on Exeter Street, along with her experienced Head Nurse Sam Job. With exciting plans to develop their new practice, they now have an unmissable opportunity for an experienced vet to join them at this exciting time.
About the owners: Having qualified from Bristol in 2010, Jo opened Plymouth’s sister practice in Woolwell in 2015 and holds an ESVPS General Practitioner Certificate in Small Animal Surgery, a Master’s in Advanced Clinical Practice and has completed the theory towards an exotics certificate. Sam brings strong managerial and nursing experience and a passion for teaching. Together they guide a supportive team that thrives under their leadership.
The team: In addition to Jo and Sam onsite daily, you will work alongside Lead Vet Kendall and an experienced team of nurses, supported by a dedicated non‑clinical team. Sam encourages a schedule that enhances the nurses’ role and supports our vets in their daily routine.
Work environment: The central Plymouth location offers a purpose‑built practice with four consult rooms, an operating theatre, a central preparation room, separate cat and dog wards and all the equipment expected from a leading GP practice. Future investments include ultrasound, dental X‑ray, and potential silver cat and rabbit accreditation.
We are looking for a forward‑thinking vet with experience in a UK small animal GP practice, confident in all aspects of everyday small animal medicine and surgery. A team player with excellent communication skills, who shares our passion for developing the practice while delivering the highest level of veterinary care.
