Nightingale Valley Practice (NVP) is seeking a locum General Practitioner to join our friendly and supportive team in Brislington, Bristol.
We are looking for a locum GP to provide 6 sessions per week, ideally spread across 3 days. The role will involve a mix of clinical consultations, admin time, and participation in our collaborative practice environment.

You will be dealing with a wide range of health needs in a primarycare setting and ensuring the highest standards of care for all patients.

RESPONSIBILITIES OF A SALARIED GP ATNVP
Patient Care - Are you Caring and Effective?
In accordance with the Practice session timetable, youwill be available to undertake a variety of duties including surgery and telephone consultations ( including a fair share of the extended hours rota), visiting patients at home,checking and signing repeat prescriptions and dealing with lab results, queries, paperwork,reports and correspondence in a timely fashion.
Take the lead role of responsible duty doctor as part of a rota.
Make professional,autonomous decisions in relation to presenting problems, whether self-referredor referred from other health care workers within the organisation.
Assess the healthcare needsof patients with undifferentiated and undiagnosed problems
Prescribe in accordance with the Practice prescribingformulary (or generically) whenever this is clinically appropriate
Support other staff such as GP trainees, PCN allied staff, ANPs and nurses with clinical queries
Participate in proportionally shared enhanced Access hours (to be discussed) along with the other clinicians within the business. This could be Early starts, late working or occasional Saturday working.
Governance and Risk Management - Are you/weSafe?
Represent the practice atCQC and NHS/CCG quality monitoring inspections
Ensure compliance with allrelevant company, local and national guidelines and legislation
Adhere to safeguardingrequirements and deal appropriately with complaints, incidents and alerts usingcompany systems and policies
Adhere to all companyclinical governance policies
Record clear andcontemporaneous consultation notes to agreed standards.
Collect data for auditpurposes and for compliance with QOF requirements
Alert other team members toissues of quality and risk.
Reflect and assess own andteam performance.
Work effectively with otheragencies to meet patients needs in a person centred way.
Effectively manage own time,workload and resources
Leadership and Development - Are we Well-Led asa practice?
Lead on clinical areas andprojects to develop the practice and enhance offerings to patientsoperationally and strategically.
Mentor and provide clinicalsupervision for a multi-disciplinary team, this may include Salaried GPs,Nursing and Administrative teams
Follow the company clinicalperformance review process
Commit to life-long learningand audit to ensure evidence-based best practice
Meet CPD requirements andkeep personal, mandatory and/or organisational training up to date, includingany training programme implemented by the Practice as part of this employment
Assess own performance andtake accountability for own actions, either directly or under supervision.
Operational Delivery - Are we Responsive?
Support the practice inachieving contractual targets by leading on areas and mentoring staff who alsolead on areas
Support the practice operationsteams to ensure that the practice stays within budget
Participate and lead inopportunities for new or expanding services at the surgery to support thepractice development plan.
Make suggestions and act onways to improve and enhance the team or practices performance using own,colleagues or patient feedback to promote You Said, We Listened, We TookAction
Engagement - Is everyone working for the sameoutcomes?

Experience
* Appropriate level of primary care experience
* Sound knowledge of clinical governance, including audit and care improvement activities
* Ability to understand and work in a politically sensitive environment (Id remove, this sounds like the practice has political challenges)
* MBBS or equivalent medical degree
* Full registration with GMC (including GP Register)
* Inclusion on National Performers List
* Eligibility for Medical Indemnity Membership
