Job Title: Head of Maths
Salary: Up to £48,000.00 per annum
Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday
Contract: Permanent, Term Time only

About the role
The Headteacher is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic Head of Maths to join this thriving specialist SEMH School. Responsible to the Assistant Headteacher, you will be an enthusiastic, flexible, and determined individual who shares our values and is looking to develop their career in this specialist area.
Who we are looking for
Ideally, we are looking for a qualified Teacher of Maths with a few years’ experience; however, we will consider applications from NQTs who have the ambition and desire. Experience within an SEMH/SEN specialist provision is desirable, but we are also open to applications from those working in mainstream or college settings.
Subject specialism is essential, as is knowledge of the current curriculum. Training and development will be provided based on the school's needs, the individual's skills, and career aspirations.
Key Accountabilities:
1. Plan and teach well-structured, balanced, interesting, and inspiring lessons.
2. Manage classes effectively, using approaches suitable to pupils’ needs to motivate them.
3. Manage behaviour effectively to ensure a good and safe working environment.
4. Understand how to assess the relevant subject and curriculum areas, including statutory assessment requirements.
5. Manage and motivate staff within your department.
6. Hold QTS.
7. Have teaching experience in Maths in a specialist or mainstream setting.
8. Demonstrate a dedicated work ethic to meet all pupils’ needs.
9. Be passionate about making learning effective and enjoyable.
10. Be qualified in your subject specialism.
11. Show ability to work on your own initiative.
