The successful candidate will become a part of this dynamic and friendly MR Physics team, providing scientific support to sites across Wales.

The successful candidate will be well-supported to develop in their career.

You will play a key role in the group’s mission of developing a centre of excellence for clinical-scientific MRI service provision and research.

You will be a registered Clinical Scientist or close to completing your training (STP or Route 2).

Main duties of the job

We are seeking to recruit a band 7 physicist to join our team. Within Radiation Physics, we are part of a large Medical Physics and Clinical Engineering department and we have excellent links with Swansea University, which is the academic centre for medical physics STP trainees from all across Wales. We provide MR physics services to sites across Wales, including to the Institute of Life Science in Swansea University, supporting a mix of GE and Siemens scanners.

The successful candidate will have a good knowledge of MR safety matters and a good knowledge of the range of clinical MRI techniques.

Essential criteria

1. 1st or 2nd class honours degree in an appropriate physical science
2. MSc in Medical Physics or a related subject (or demonstration of an equivalent level of scientific expertise and academic achievement)

3. Registration with HCPC as a Clinical Scientist (Medical Physics) or ability to achieve within a reasonable timescale
