Senior Residential Childcare Worker role at CareTech. Location: Dunoon. Salary: £35,048 per annum. Contract: Permanent, Full Time (40 hours per week). Closing date: Friday 26 September 2025.
Job Purpose And Expectations
To assist the Management Team with the effective and efficient management of the house. To work within and ensure effective delivery of the main responsibilities and key result areas identified within the role of Senior RCCW. You will be part of a unique team who will drive the Care staff team to facilitate positive practice and have the opportunity to shape the practice of our Service. The Senior RCCW will have demonstrated experience in prioritisation and allocation of high‑level needs, including involvement in child protection and outcome‑focused interventions. You will believe in a team approach placing the child at the centre of the care plan and will practise partnership working with all stakeholders. The role requires commitment to continuous improvement and professional development and a drive to support, motivate, supervise and mentor high-performing teams to achieve good outcomes for young people. You should ideally have at least 2 years of residential experience and a clear understanding of the National Care Standards, the Care Inspectorate inspection process, and the systems in place to meet the quality statements within the four quality themes. You will understand and participate in the daily routines of the House and ensure tasks are completed to the highest standard. In this role you will be ‘on show’, so ensure that your practice is of the highest standard and aligned with the home’s Policies and Procedures and those of Spark of Genius. You will be conversant with the National Care Standards and ensure all work supports the ethos of this role.

Qualifications / Experience
* Approximately 2 years of residential childcare experience (preferred)
* Strong understanding of the National Care Standards and Care Inspectorate processes
* Ability to lead, mentor, and supervise teams to achieve positive outcomes
