IP Optometrist (Contact Lens Specialist) – Part-Time | London W1 (On-site)
We are seeking a skilled and motivated IP Optometrist with a special interest in contact lenses to join our team. The role offers a varied caseload including refraction, anterior eye care and specialist contact lens practice.
Role Overview
You will provide a mix of general and complex clinical care, including refraction, contact lens fitting and management of ocular surface disease and minor eye conditions within your prescribing scope.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide a mix of general sight tests and complex refractions, including for patients with low vision.
* Fit and manage a full spectrum of contact lenses, from routine disposables to complex and bespoke designs, including orthokeratology, scleral and specialty lenses for keratoconus, irregular corneas and high astigmatism.
* Manage dry eye disease and ocular surface conditions (with drugs, plugs, IPL, etc)
* Diagnose and treat minor eye conditions (IP role)
* Deliver excellent patient care, including clear communication, education and aftercare
* Work with advanced diagnostic and imaging equipment
About You
* GOC-registered Optometrist with Independent Prescribing qualification
* Experience in fitting specialty contact lenses in a hospital or specialist clinic
* Confident with complex refraction and managing a range of clinical presentations
* Up-to-date knowledge of contact lenses and dry eye management
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Detail-oriented with a commitment to high clinical standards
