School Crossing Patrol Officer - St Luke's CE School

£13.00 per hour
Working Style:
Support schools once in the morning and once in the afternoon, ensuring the safety of pedestrians crossing the road to and from school and surrounding areas.
We seek punctual, reliable, approachable individuals who enjoy engaging with the public.
This position is approximately 7.5 hours per week, during the 39 weeks of the academic year, with a holiday pay element. You must be available to work during 45-minute sessions in the mornings (08:00 - 09:00) and afternoons (14:45 - 15:45), depending on site needs. Uniform, equipment, and training are provided.
Responsibilities:
1. Consider the needs of people with disabilities, especially mobility-impaired pedestrians using the crossing.
2. Maintain communication with schools attended by crossing users.
3. Assess risks at the crossing site regularly, report issues and defects to your supervisor.
4. Assist in preparing reports on accidents, failure to stop incidents, and other occurrences at the crossing.
5. Maintain all provided uniform and equipment in good condition and request replacements as needed.
6. Give clear signals to drivers to stop traffic and ensure the road is clear of pedestrians before allowing crossing.
