The Design Engineer/Applications Engineer job itself, which is a hands‑on, customer‑facing engineering role owning the application design journey from initial enquiry through to release. You will interface with customers and suppliers, generate and approve design proposals, and ensure solutions are manufacturable, compliant and delivered on time. More specifically:
* Design of products for customers using SolidWorks (CAD), ensuring these are to customer expectations
* Provide technical guidance to highly technical external customers, visiting customer sites
* Liaising with the Sales team, customers and suppliers
* Generate and approve design proposals utilizing our client’s extensive design and material expertise to ensure the best application solution for customers
* Knowledge and experience of Quality Systems, familiarity with ISO9001:2015, PPAP, First Article Inspection, Non‑Conformances, Quality Audits, etc.
* Support with Goods Inwards Inspection of manufactured parts to ensure conformity
* Work closely with suppliers to ensure quality of product
Hours: Full Time: Monday to Thursday: 8:30‑17:00; Friday: 8:30‑16:00 (incl. 30 minutes lunch)
You will have
To be successful as the Design Engineer/Applications Engineer you will have a healthy mix of the following:
* Experience in a Design Engineer role
* Understanding of applications in Hydraulics, Pumps, Valves, Compressors is a benefit
* Comfortable with direct contact with customers
* Knowledge of manufacturing and processes in relevant industries
* IT usage of ERP & CAD systems, Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word and PowerPoint)

* Monday – Thursday: 08:30 – 17:00; Fridays: 08:30 – 16:00
