The Role
KPMG’s Energy and Natural Resources (“ENR”) tax practice covers Oil and Gas, Mining, Power and Utilities (including renewables) and Chemicals. Our ENR practice is growing significantly due to the energy transition and fiscal changes.
Our clients include major global ENR companies, both UK-based and international. Our work spans deal advisory, international and domestic tax advice. A successful candidate will have opportunities to work across these areas.
Deal advisory services include support for transactions such as vendor assistance, refinancing, due diligence, and structuring. We help clients understand tax issues and structure transactions to maximize value, often across multiple countries and tax regimes.
Tax advisory work involves advising on jurisdiction entry, new business development, reorganizations, refinancing, leasing, and impacts of windfall taxes and global fiscal reforms like BEPS 2.0 Pillar 2.

* Collaborate with UK and overseas tax specialists, critically evaluate their input
* Stay updated on UK and OECD tax developments
* Understand financial models from a tax perspective
* Contribute to thought leadership initiatives
The Person
* Qualified CTA, ACA/CA, or equivalent

* Experience in the ENR sector is a plus, but candidates with a keen interest and willingness to learn will be considered
* Good interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
* Solid UK corporate tax knowledge
* Strong analytical skills, curious, and problem-solving mindset
* Ability to work in a team and manage workload effectively
* Proficient in Excel and PowerPoint
