Overview
We’re looking for smart meter engineers with a track record of safety and customer excellence. You’ll be representing our brands in customers’ homes, so you’ll need to be as comfortable talking with customers as you are about the installation itself. You’ll be fitting meters, showing customers how their meter and in-home display work, how it can help them save energy, and answering any questions about the green energy revolution we are leading. As part of the Octopus Energy Services team, you’ll have access to the support of an office team with shared performance goals and Octopus Energy’s technology power, enabling us to reduce admin time and focus on delivering excellent service.
Responsibilities
* Install meters and demonstrate how the meter and in-home display work.
* Explain how to save energy and answer customer questions about the services and green energy initiatives.
* Represent Octopus Energy brands in customers’ homes with safety and customer service as priorities.
What you’ll need
* MOCoPA – held within the last 3 years with evidence available
* Gas Safe – CCN1/MET1 or CMA1/MET1 (or equivalent)
* Full UK driving licence with no more than 6 points

* For every asset installed beyond your sixth, you’ll earn an additional £15

Call-out, overtime and Saturday work
* Rotating call-out schedule once every five weeks (Mon–Sun) with a £250 retainer; paid door-to-door when called out
* Saturday: £50 attendance, £70 for a dual-fuel installation, £35 for a single-fuel installation; technical is paid at half rate

* You’ll complete a practical trade test and interview with an Area Manager to discuss your experience, motivation, and questions about life as a Smart Meter Engineer with Octopus.
