Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Community Engagement Officer to join our team at the Harrogate Town Community Foundation. Using the power of football to make a difference in our local community, we deliver many projects across the district. The ideal candidate will have a passion for supporting people young and old, providing guidance, and fostering their personal development. This role involves working closely with children, adolescents (including those with special educational needs) and older and potential vulnerable people, to create a safe and nurturing environment that promotes learning, growth, socialisation and engagement.
Duties
* Develop and implement programmes tailored to the needs of individuals or groups.
* Foster positive relationships with people, encouraging their participation in activities.
* Monitor and record the progress of participants, providing feedback and support as needed.
* Facilitate group activities that promote teamwork and social skills.
* Assist in creating a safe environment by adhering to safeguarding policies and procedures.
* Being an integral member of staff on our PL Kicks, Talk of the Town and Pitch Positive sessions.

Qualifications
* Youth Work Level 2 (Essential)
* Safeguarding Children & Vulnerable People* (Essential)
* Safeguarding Adults* (Essential)
* FA Emergency First Aid and/or First Aid at Work* (Essential)
* FA Level 1 Coaching Qualification (Desirable)
* FA Level 2 Coaching Qualification (Desirable)
* Other NGB Level 2 Qualification (Desirable)
Can be achieved after appointment in role*
Experience
* Previous community-based experience and/or working with children and young people in community and/or youth work settings.
* Ability to be flexible with delivery times as the role will require working evenings and possibly weekends.
* Experience of planning and leading sports activities for children and young people.
* Experience of working with vulnerable and older people in community settings.
* Ability to develop relationships with people from disengaged communities and provide a positive experience for all.
* A 'can do' attitude with evidence of leadership skills with a proven ability to support and motivate others to reach their full potential.
