Actuarial Reporting Expert - Salary c. £95,000 This is a great job for someone who is an ambitious, qualified actuary who wants to play a key role in shaping the financial management of the business while developing specialist technical expertise. A bit about the job: You will oversee the end-to-end actuarial assumption setting process, including managing the governance committees for reporting assumptions and costing assumptions. This includes coordinating the overall process, working with colleagues conducting detailed reviews, and supporting senior leaders in reviewing and challenging final proposals. You will present summaries to senior management and the Board and act as the primary contact point for auditors. Alongside this, you will take ownership of developing and reviewing a key part of the actuarial basis, initially expenses and investment expenses, becoming the subject matter expert. This is a high impact role supported by a small, skilled team and offers the opportunity to shape how the approach to setting the basis evolves over time. Skills and experience we're looking for: Qualified actuary with several years of varied experience and a strong interest in actuarial methodology, experience analysis and applying actuarial judgement. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex issues clearly and concisely. Creative thinker with the ability to generate ideas and apply new technologies to enhance the assumption setting process. Strong collaborative skills, with the ability to build effective relationships across Finance, wider business stakeholders and external auditors. Broad understanding of life insurance products, their risks, and the key financial reporting, capital and pricing/costing metrics.
