Overview
Unilever Kingston Upon Thames, England, United Kingdom — interim SHE Capabilities Specialist - Digital. The position is fully remote with occasional travel to Kingston upon Thames, Surrey. This is a full-time temporary role running until end October 2026, requiring 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday. Compensation is up to £48,000 per annum, pro rata, depending upon experience. Flexibility with working hours to accommodate different time zones.
The ideal candidate will be a member of the SHE capability expertise team Zero Harm to People, focusing on Occupational Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Contractor and Construction Safety, owning the delivery of Digital projects, owner of digital products and solutions in scope, and thus enhancing capability and fostering a strong SHE culture on sites and within and beyond the Unilever organization.
Responsibilities
* Ownership: Owner of select number of digital projects, solutions and/or products of the expertise platform; is the overall subject matter expert of these select solutions and products; keeps track of progress on delivery within the scope of the expertise platform; ability to learn various digital systems used in SHE and Unilever, understand interactions, able to implement chosen system and manage interactions.
* Leadership: Responsible for the delivery of these solutions and products for the Expertise Platform per agreed plan in year; coordinates training sessions and/or trains users across the globe to successfully implement in year; provides guidance and support; coordinates SMEs to ensure solution/product functions as needed; leads by example; speaks up, encourages safe behaviours and practices, fosters a learning environment; supports the development of the Digital Strategy and Digital Architecture aligned with organizational goals for the expertise platform; supports Assessment of Digital Needs analysis by conducting an organizational needs assessment for the expertise platform; supports the evaluation of Effectiveness of the tool by tracking against measures of success, user feedback and through various evaluation methods; addresses functional issues, makes recommendations and builds improvements based on user feedback; ensures solutions and products are user friendly, fit for purpose and up to date; assists in drafting revisions and amendments of functionality and functions; stay up to date with new technologies and opportunities to improve the solution functionality.
* Teamwork: Collaborates within the SMEs and specialists within the SHE capability team and users to ensure the solutions deliver as per plan; fosters the relationships within SHE and with other functions to ensure smooth functionality of solutions daily; comfortable with and able to work with stakeholders outside of SHE and external expertise to deliver per plan.
Qualifications
* Bachelor’s degree in data science, finance, engineering or a related field. (preferred)
* Experience in SHE, engineering, IT
* Strong communication, and problem-solving skills.
* Proven ability to deliver on time in full
* Experience working in a multicultural environment.
* Strong knowledge of safety regulations and compliance standards.
* Proficiency in SHE management systems and tools
* Excellent communication and presentation skills.
* Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and site personnel.
* Certification in safety training (e.g., OSHA, NEBOSH) is a plus.
