About the Role
A hands on Engineering Manager is needed for a friendly, close-knit manufacturing site close to the M11 corridor. Youll lead a small engineering team while also being actively involved in maintenance, reliability, and continuous improvement across the plant.
Responsibilities
* Lead mechanical and maintenance activities, including breakdowns and improvements.
* Manage the Scheduled Maintenance Plan and ensure accurate documentation.
* Oversee engineering projects, new equipment installations, and upgrades.
* Deliver engineering support aligned with safety, quality, and cost targets.
* Drive equipment reliability and high OEE.
* Work with production to define specifications and manage parts.
* Conduct risk assessments and uphold site safety standards.
* Provide hands-on leadership and support to the engineering team.
Experience Required
1. Strong mechanical or maintenance engineering background in a production environment.
2. Chemical Engineering background is a bonus.
3. Hands-on troubleshooting and repair skills.
4. Leadership experience and strong communication skills.
5. Project management ability and good organisational skills.
