Our client is a leading Welsh based organisation that has an exciting opportunity for a qualified Finance Business Partner to join its teams.
The Finance Business Partner will work within a team to provide strategic, value-adding financial insight and analysis to senior management and budget owners, enabling effective decision-making.
Duties
Lead the preparation and delivery of financial plans, budgets and forecasts for assigned business areas, ensuring accuracy and alignment with organisational objectives and contribution to the development of actionable insights to inform business decisions.
Contribute to the timely and accurate production and critical review of management information, including period end and management accounts, financial analysis, and performance dashboards. Use analytical tools and techniques to identify trends, risks, and opportunities that support the achievement of business objectives.
Partner with assigned business areas and cross-functional teams to provide insightful financial analysis and recommendations that support strategic and operational decision-making. This includes identifying and evaluating financial risks and opportunities, and communication them appropriately.
Partner with senior leaders and cross-functional teams to challenge assumptions, influence strategic initiatives, and ensure financial implications are fully considered in key business decisions and investment cases to ensure outcomes are value for money and in accord with the Business Plan and remit.
Drive the development and implementation of cost-saving initiatives and process improvements, by challenging existing practices to deliver greater efficiency and value.
Produce and present financial performance reports, including variance analysis and commentary, to ensure stakeholders are equipped with timely, relevant information.
Conduct regular review meetings with budget holders, acting as the primary finance contact for support and to ensure accountability for financial targets.
Support the year-end audit process by preparing required information and responding to audit queries to ensure a smooth and timely audit outcome.
The Finance Business Partner supports the organisations financial management and strategic planning, acting as a key interface between Finance and the wider business. By delivering high-quality financial insight, challenge, and support, the role enables the organisation to make informed decisions, optimise resource allocation, and achieve its strategic goals. The role supports a culture of accountability, efficiency, and continuous improvement, ensuring the finance function is a proactive partner in the success of the business.
Experience Required
Essential:
Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) with demonstrable experience in business partnering or financial management within a complex organisation.
High level of proficiency in financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and management reporting.
Demonstrable commercial acumen and ability to translate financial data into actionable business insight.
Good interpersonal and influencing skills, with the ability to build effective relationships at all levels.
Advanced Excel skills and experience with financial systems.
