An established and well‑respected Lloyd’s insurance broker, operating from offices in both the City and Southend, is seeking a Broker Backup Technician to join its successful team. Your new role
In this position, you will play a key part in supporting the broking function by managing a wide variety of technical and administrative responsibilities. You will be responsible for processing Binding Authorities, Open Market placements and Lineslips, while also producing and handling documentation such as slips, endorsements, cover notes, policy schedules and debit notes. You will prepare premium bordereaux and monthly lineslip declarations, and you will regularly use systems including Atlas,, PPL, Lineage and AIF, as well as the A&S platforms used on a daily basis.You will also calculate and monitor profitmissions, process Coverholder applications, and liaise with the claims team to resolve any issues or queries that arise. Additionally, you will maintain oversight of all binder renewals, review performance, issue renewal notices and send follow‑upmunications where required. Ensuring that premium payments are chased promptly and that all procedural and regulatory obligations are met will form an important part of your responsibilities. Alongside this, you will carry out general administrative duties and keep accurate, well‑organised records that can be presented to senior management when required.
What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in this role, you should have a minimum of two years' experience in a broker backup or similar technical role within a Lloyd’s broker. You will need to befortable working in a busy environment where you will manage a varied workload throughout the day. Strong all‑round broker support experience is essential, as is confidence with IT systems, particularly Brokasure. You should also have excellentmunication and organisational skills and be able to prioritise tasks effectively to meet deadlines withoutpromising accuracy. Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook is highly desirable. You will need to follow written and verbal instructions clearly andmunicate professionally with clients, insurers and colleagues. Progress towards ACII is advantageous, and thepany offers study support to assist with your ongoing professional development.
