Offer description

Role Introduction

The Community Neurology Rehabilitation Team is a city-wide service which provides rehabilitation support to people with long term neurological conditions. This post offers an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual with an interest in this patient group to work within a multidisciplinary, dynamic team. The successful candidate will provide support to the team to provide therapy interventions and specialist rehabilitation to patients. The role will primarily be based in the community but there will also be an element of supporting patients at clinics at St Marys Hospital.

The Community Neurology Rehabilitation Team comprises of Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, Dietitians, Nurses, Consultants, Rehabilitation Assistants, Therapy Assistant Practitioners and Psychologists. The post holder will be an integral part of the team. Working closely with other members of the MDT is essential to provide time limited, goal focused, patient centred care.

We are looking for a Rehabilitation Assistant who will provide support to nursing, dietetics and the therapy team. This will involve working with patients to deliver interventions delegated by a registered clinician. These can include delegated personal care practice, exercise programmes, kitchen activities, and social activities to mention a few.

The successful candidate will have experience of working with the general public and within teams. You will need to demonstrate excellent communication skills and be able to communicate with service users, relatives/carers and other members of the team. The post holder must be able to work under pressure, organising their own workload and under the direction of others. The post holder must have completed The Care Certificate.

Due to the nature of the role it is essential that applicants are able to travel independently across the locality and have access to a suitable vehicle for business purposes. If necessary, adjustments can be considered in accordance with the Equality Act 2010.

The service is committed to professional development and can offer the successful candidate access to regular clinical supervision from a specialist registered member of staff, in-service training and peer support from highly skilled clinicians. If you have the required skills and are enthusiastic, motivated and willing to learn, this could be the post for you.

Please review the Job Description and Person Specification attached for full requirements of the role.

Adverts will close early where the maximum number of applicants is reached.
