As a Facilities Manager, you will support our pupils by ensuring our sites are well maintained and equipped to meet their needs.
This role offers an opportunity to work with a team dedicated to helping pupils with SEMH and related needs. Responsibilities include day-to-day repairs, risk assessments, security procedures, equipment checks, and contributing to school development projects.
Consistency is crucial for many of our pupils, and our Site Manager ensures that everything runs smoothly and safely.
This position is ideal for individuals skilled in maintenance, DIY, and health and safety, who want to make a meaningful difference in pupils’ lives and futures.
You should be quality-focused, efficient, able to work at pace, and motivated to provide a safe, caring environment where every pupil can thrive.
Minimum Requirements:
* Experience leading and managing maintenance projects
* Experience with costing work, purchasing, and working within budgets
* Relevant experience managing a multi-functional team (highly desirable)
* Experience at management level in an education setting (highly desirable)
* Experience supervising and appraising staff (highly desirable)
* Good knowledge of maintenance, catering, and domestic practices, including the use and storage of relevant products
* Ability to devise and implement effective systems of working
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team
* Effective leadership and motivational skills
* Good verbal and written communication skills
* Strong organizational and time management skills
* Commitment to the values of the organization
* Driving license and access to a car

Our new Acorn School – Manor Wood School in Bishopsworth, Bristol, will accommodate 80 pupils and is scheduled to open in May 2025. The school will serve pupils with complex needs, including SEMH.
