Job Description
A highly regarded and long-established SME group, based in Christchurch, is seeking an Assistant Financial Accountant to join its central finance team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a part-qualified accountant or QBE finance professional looking to transition into industry or build on their technical accounting expertise within a diverse and multi-entity environment.

Reporting to the Financial Reporting Manager, you will support the financial reporting function across the group. Key responsibilities include:
* Assisting with the preparation of statutory accounts in line with UK GAAP
* Supporting group reporting and IFRS-based working papers
* Preparing and reviewing balance sheet reconciliations
* Assisting with corporate and personal tax computations
* Supporting trust and fund accounting
* Reconciling intercompany transactions across multiple entities
* Reviewing entity-level accounting records on a monthly basis
* Contributing to financial reports and ad hoc project work
This is a broad and hands-on role offering excellent exposure across a complex group structure.
About You:
Essential:
* Degree in Accounting/Finance or relevant practical experience
* Strong understanding of core accounting principles
* Confident Excel user
* Experience with reconciliations and financial data
* Highly organised with strong attention to detail
* Ability to commute to Christchurch, Dorset, five days a week
Desirable:
* Part-qualified (ACCA / ACA / CIMA / AAT)
* Experience preparing statutory accounts under UKGAAP or IFRS
* Experience working in a multi-entity or group environment
* Basic understanding of Corporation Tax
