About the Role:
We are looking for a highly skilled Paint Technician / Paint Sprayer to join an existing team of experts with an eye for detail and a finesse to their skill. This is a rare and exciting opportunity to join a company where quality supersedes speed and attention to detail is paramount to deliver iconic and flawless vehicles to a bespoke number of customers.
You will be responsible for the paint lifecycle of luxury vehicles working to bespoke and custom specifications. This role requires a broad range of skills including paint preparation, spray painting, tinting, and colouring ensuring the application of base coasts, primers, lacquers, finishes are flawless.
The Duties and Responsibilities as a Paint Technician:
Preparation of panels for painting including prime, prep and masking
Carry out full re-sprays and necessary repairs using various spraying techniques
Application of basecoats, primers, lacquers, and finishes
Working with a variety of paints including;
Water and solvent based
Clear over base
Solid and two-pack
Metallics, 3-stage Pearlescents, Candies, Matte lacquer, Satin, or Gloss finishes
Special mixes
Ensuring vehicles are flawless with no drip marks, tear backs or defects
Flattening and polishing using specialist methods
Ensure all parts and panels are audited with relevant sign off.
Occasional panel repair (filler work) and light strip & refit
The Ideal Paint Technician:
Must have extensive hands-on experience of whole vehicle spray painting.
Background in classic restoration, motorsport, or high-end vehicle builds is a major advantage
Experience with carbon fibre components is desirable
Meticulous attention to detail and pride in your work
Confident working independently or as part of a team
Good understanding of Health & Safety and COSHH regulations
Flexibility to work overtime when required
Hours & Pay:
Hours: Day Shift: Monday – Thursday (7:00 AM – 4:30 PM), Friday (7:00 AM – 12.45 PM). Overtime opportunities available.
Umbrella Pay: £30 per hour paid via PAYE Umbrella model
Please note, this role is deemed inside of IR35. The Umbrella pay rate offered is inclusive of the Assignment pay rate, holiday pay and Apex Recruitments contribution towards Employer Costs.
