About the Rural Business Consultant Role
The Rural Business Consultant will join our Towcester office and work closely with farmers and landowners to deliver practical, high‑value solutions. You will manage farm portfolios, advise on grants and subsidies, develop renewable technology strategies and support clients in achieving their financial targets.
Responsibilities
* Provision of business solutions to farmers and landowners
* Farm business management and diversification advice
* Assisting with the management of the in‑hand farm portfolio
* Providing advice on grants and subsidies and the implementation of environmental schemes
* Preparation of profit and cash‑flow budgets for business planning
* Practical advice on renewable technologies
* Managing and developing client relationships (new and existing)
* Supporting delivery of the business plan
* Assisting in the delivery of agreed financial targets and managing own performance
Qualifications
* Two to four years of post‑graduate experience
* Practical understanding of business, agriculture, land and property
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team, knowing when to seek senior guidance
* Strong written and verbal communication skills
* Strong IT competence
* Access to a vehicle with insurance for business purposes
* Self‑motivated with initiative to build a professional network
* Ownership of budget and workload management
Hours
37.5 hours per week, flexibly Monday‑Friday.
