Income and Rent Arrears Recovery Officer
Overview

Purpose of the role
To lead organisation-wide rent arrears recovery efforts, manage complex debt cases, support policy adherence, embed social and financial support initiatives, and leverage real‑time data for proactive management. The role also supports asset‑management strategies, resolves long‑standing aged debts, and works collaboratively with teams and external agencies to maximise income, reduce liabilities and sustain tenancies.
Responsibilities
The role involves legal case work, tenancy enforcement, representing the organisation in court proceedings, ensuring compliance and managing tenancy effectively. The post holder will deliver tailored advice and support to Tenants, Residents and Service Users (TRS) and train staff involved in tenancy enforcement activities.
Key Qualifications
The successful candidate will combine technical expertise in legal matters related to income management with strong interpersonal skills, debt‑recovery experience and a commitment to organisational values, ensuring compliance, tenancy sustainment and a positive contribution to the mission of the association.
