Pay: £21.58 ltd per hour (umbrella rate) or £15.40 per hour PAYE equivalent

We are looking for a Probation Service Officer (PSO) to join our team in Crewe. This is a rewarding opportunity to work directly with individuals in the criminal justice system, helping them address the challenges that contribute to offending behaviour while supporting their journey toward rehabilitation.
Working as part of a dedicated probation team, you will play a key role in supervising individuals in the community and supporting them to build safer, more stable futures.
What You’ll Be Doing
As a Probation Service Officer, you will work closely with Probation Officers and partner agencies to support individuals serving community sentences or licences following release from custody.
Your responsibilities will include:
Supervising individuals on probation and supporting them to comply with court orders and licence conditions
Meeting regularly with people under supervision to encourage engagement and progress
Delivering structured interventions and support sessions aimed at reducing reoffending
Identifying risks or safeguarding concerns and reporting these appropriately
Maintaining accurate case records and documentation
Supporting individuals to access services such as housing, employment, education, and health supportYou will also work collaboratively with a range of partner organisations to help individuals overcome barriers and successfully reintegrate into the community.

Experience working with vulnerable individuals or managing challenging behaviour
Good organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities
A commitment to promoting rehabilitation and public safetyDesirable:
Experience within criminal justice, social care, youth work, or support services
Knowledge of safeguarding practices and risk management
