Rate of Pay: £16.50- £20.75 per hour
Summary:
The Access Screening Officer will be the first point of contact for residents accessing Adult Social Care services via Enfield Councils 1001 ASC enquiry telephone line and other communication channels. The postholder will provide clear, accurate, and timely information to customers, assess initial needs and risks, and determine eligibility for services, benefits, or concessions. By gathering essential information at the first point of contact, the officer will ensure referrals are handled efficiently and customers, particularly elderly and vulnerable residents, are directed to the right support and resources.
Responsibilities:
* Use judgement and decision-making skills to assess customers needs, eligibility for services, funding, benefits, or concessions.
* Identify potential risks to elderly or vulnerable service users and escalate safeguarding concerns in line with Council policies.
* Allocate and signpost customers to appropriate resources, services, or specialist teams to meet their needs.
* Contribute to continuous service improvement and promote Enfield Councils commitment to customer care.
Essentials:
* Educated to GCSE level or equivalent, with good literacy and numeracy skills.
* Knowledge of Adult Social Care services and related statutory responsibilities.
* Experience handling enquiries from the public, including vulnerable or distressed individuals.
* Experience working in a customer service or contact centre environment.
