Software Tester, Gateshead We are recruiting for a Software Tester to join the Vertu Technology team within Vertu Motors. In this role you will be supporting our internal software development team in the testing, QA and maintenance of group websites, web applications and internal systems and applications. You will work closely with developers to ensure quality assurance processes are met. This will involve a combination of manual and automated testing, testing plan design and implementation, and website maintenance. This is a full time role based out of our offices in Gateshead - we are offering a hybrid working pattern and the salary is up to £35,000. As a Software Tester, you'll need to: Work with software developers and project support teams Identify business requirements Monitor applications and software systems Carry out regression testing, performance testing, functional and system testing, and scalability testing Run manual and automated tests Test in different environments, including web and mobile Write bug reports Provide quality assurance Provide objective feedback to software development project teams Troubleshoot and problem solve Collaborate in the design of tests to mitigate risk Meet with system users to understand the scope of projects Document/User specification analysis We are looking someone with the following experience: Ideally a degree in computer science or related discipline Familiarity with GitHub is desirable Software development frameworks experience (Agile, Scrum) Technical skills – as a Tester you should: Understand software architectural concepts and workflows Know HTML, JavaScript, CSS and other programming languages Have experiencing creating technical documentation applicable to different software frameworks Have experience of one or more of following testing frameworks: Playwright, Cypress, Selenium, Appium Be interested in behaviour driven development, familiar with Cucumber; Understand web browser debugging tools (Firebug, Dev Tools, etc.) Interpersonal skills – Ability to communicate well verbally and in written form with other developers and project team members is critical.
