Overview
The Role
We are recruiting for a motivated and adaptable Multi-Skilled Engineer to support the ongoing reliability and performance of production equipment. This position is vital in ensuring machinery operates safely, efficiently, and with minimal disruption to output.
This is a practical, hands-on role requiring strong mechanical and electrical capability within a manufacturing environment. The successful individual will support operational demands, including participation in shift patterns and occasional weekend on-call cover where required.
This role runs on 3 different shift patterns: days, earlies, and lates.
Responsibilities
* Carry out scheduled preventative maintenance across mechanical and electrical systems, accurately recording all work undertaken
* Diagnose and repair faults efficiently to minimise downtime and maintain production flow
* Action maintenance requests within agreed service levels
* Identify underlying causes of equipment failures and implement long-term corrective solutions
* Contribute to and drive continuous improvement activities to improve plant reliability and operational performance
* Support the installation, setup, and commissioning of new machinery and equipment
* Liaise with suppliers to obtain quotations and arrange procurement of spare parts and components
* Collaborate with production teams to optimise equipment performance and promote health & safety best practice
Candidate
* Completed a recognised apprenticeship or hold relevant engineering qualifications
* Demonstrable experience across both electrical and mechanical maintenance
* Sound knowledge of manufacturing machinery and PLC-controlled systems
* Experience within an FMCG environment would be beneficial
* Strong problem-solving ability with an understanding of lean manufacturing principles
* Self-motivated, adaptable, and capable of performing in a fast-paced production setting
* A collaborative team player with excellent communication skills
Salary
£40,000 - £47,500 per annum, dependent on experience
