HR Advisor – Temp to perm
Location: Southend-on-Sea (with occasional travel across 5 sites)
Start: ASAP
Are you an experienced HR Advisor with strong employment relations expertise, who can hit the ground running? My client is looking for a hands-on, empathetic HR professional to join their People team and make a real impact.
This is a temporary assignment to start in January 2026 for 3-6 months, which is likely to become permanent after that.
What you’ll be doing:
* Being the go-to HR advisor for Line Managers – from tricky casework to day-to-day HR support.
* Handling full casework end-to-end, with solid knowledge of employment law.
* Building strong relationships with managers, staff, and unions.
* Acting as a trusted advisor across multiple sites – Head Office in Southend with occasional travel to other campuses.
* Supporting mental health initiatives (being prepared to be a Mental Health First Aider is a plus).
What we’re looking for:
* CIPD Level 5 qualified.
* Proven experience managing full ER casework, preferably in a public sector environment.
* Confident working with unions and staff at all levels.
* Ability to listen empathetically, challenge appropriately, and provide balanced advice.
* Proactive, can-do attitude – someone who can quickly make a difference.
* Valid enhanced DBS highly desirable.
