Vehicle Technician (HGV)
Salary: £41,786 per annum (Basic £36,363 and Standby £5,423. Overtime available) + benefits
About the role
We are looking to fill a vacancy for Vehicle Technician (HGV) in our Operations and Resilience Department within the Technical Services Centre.
The successful candidate will support lifesaving operations, develop specialist skills with training in HGV inspection, Cat C licence, Volvo product, etc.
Responsibilities
* Maintain services fleet of appliances, light vans, cars and marine craft
* Diagnose and repair faults on reported defects
* Prepare vehicles for MOT
* Carry out all work safely
* Attend stations and other service locations for maintenance/repairs
Qualifications and Experience
* Level 3 qualification in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance
* Diagnosis and rectification of electrical/electronic faults in modern vehicles and plant
* Mechanical repairs: hydraulics, diesel & petrol engines, automatic transmissions, retarders, full air braking systems, ABS, traction control
* Fabricating components from metal and wood
* Excellent communication and IT skills
* Ability to meet deadlines and produce quality work
