Job Opportunity: Experienced Teaching Assistant (with Read Write Inc. Phonics Experience)
Location: Northampton Primary School
Hours: 8:30 AM – 3:30 PM, Monday to Friday
Start Date: ASAP
A Primary School in Northampton is seeking a confident and experienced Teaching Assistant with proven experience delivering Read Write Inc. Phonics to join our dedicated and supportive team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is passionate about literacy and has a strong background in supporting children’s learning, particularly in early reading development.
Key Responsibilities:
* Support the delivery of Read Write Inc. Phonics sessions across the school
* Work closely with class teachers and the phonics lead to plan and deliver engaging and effective phonics interventions
* Provide targeted support to individual pupils and small groups, including those who need additional help with reading and writing
* Help maintain a positive and inclusive learning environment
* Support classroom management and pupil engagement
* Assist with general classroom support and school-wide activities as needed
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
* Proven experience as a Teaching Assistant in a primary school
* Recent experience delivering Read Write Inc. Phonics (training or accreditation preferred)
* A good understanding of the national curriculum and child development
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* The ability to work independently and as part of a team
* A proactive, flexible approach and a passion for helping children succeed
* A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
Additional Information:
* This position is subject to an enhanced DBS check and satisfactory references.
* Start date will be confirmed once all pre-employment checks are completed.
