CNC Milling Engineer

We are delighted to be recruiting a CNC Milling Engineer on behalf of our Swindon based clients. The successful candidate will produce components to drawing tolerance and specifications, efficiently and accurately as required by customer specifications.
Purpose of the Role:
* To produce high quality components, in line with drawing tolerances & conditions, efficiently & accurately, as required by our customer specifications.
The Role:
* Produce accurate, high quality components with maximum efficiency
* Accurately plan the production method & create programmes when advised by supervisor to customers specification using available facilities
* Competently set & operate CNC milling machines using operating systems for each machine
* Plan & specify tooling requirements for production, including any jigs & fixtures or special cutting tools
* To work to tight tolerances and check your own work during production batch runs
* Carry out inspection, including first-off inspection of others work using CMM equipment
* Support and advise other employees when required in ensuring all operations are carried out efficiently and accurately to customers’ requirements, drawing tolerance
* Adhere to company quality procedures as per company quality manual ISO9000:2000
* Work flexibly where possible to support the business when needed
Person Specification:
Fully skilled time served engineer/tool maker with CNC milling experience
CNC programmer/setter/operator with experience of CAD / CAM programming
Able to interpret engineering drawings
Able to use a wide variety of measuring equipment
FANUC and G&M Code experience desirable
Able to work under own initiative
Discretion, confidentiality and professionalism at all times
Eligible to work in UK.
Main responsibilities:
Produce accurate, high-quality components with maximum efficiency
Accurately plan the production method & create programmes to customers specification
Ensure all programmes and data are saved as per company procedures
Competently set and operate CNC milling machines using operating systems for each machine
Plan and specify tooling requirements for production, including any jigs and fixtures or special cutting tools
Ensure machine processes are running at optimum efficiency with correct speeds and feeds
To work to tight tolerances and check your own work during production batch runs
Carry out inspection, including first-off inspection of others work using CMM and inspection equipment
Support and advise other employees when required in ensuring all operations are carried out efficiently and accurately to customers’ requirements, drawing tolerance and specifications
General responsibilities:
Ensure all components in production are accompanied by the appropriate route card and instruction package and always adhere to any specialist instructions
Report any faults or abnormalities to section supervisor at the earliest opportunity
Ensure machine maintenance is adhered to as per company standards
Liaise with section supervisor to ensure work is completed on time highlighting any concerns at the earliest opportunity
Produce excellent quality components using various materials as laid out in the customer’s specification
Adhere to production schedules, instructed, and agreed with supervisor
Work with other employees to ensure quality and standards are always maintained
Adhere to company quality procedures as per company quality manual ISO9000:2000
Ensure your working area is always kept clean and tidy and general housekeeping maintained to assist with health and safety procedures
Report broken or missing equipment/spares/consumables to supervisor/management
Undertake any other reasonable management request
To attend staff meetings when requested
Work flexibly where possible to support the business when needed
Attend training requested by the company which is linked to the development of your job role
Forward suggestions for discussion to improve processes or procedures to your section supervisor or management
Ensure waste is kept to a minimum to benefit both the company and the environment Legal duties
Attend any Health and Safety training when required
To take a responsible approach to health, safety, and environmental risks in relation to your own job role and to control the risks or report them to management as appropriate
Ensure full compliance with health and safety personal protective equipment including work boots, safety glasses, ear plugs, overalls as required by legislation and set out in company health and safety procedures
