Senior Youth Worker - Youth Support

An exciting opportunity has been created within Youth Support to provide open access support to young people of Bridgend.
Overview
The successful candidate will manage one of our youth centres within the county, managing a team of youth workers and ensuring the delivery of a needs led provision that meets the needs of young people in line with the five aims identified in the Youth Work Strategy for Wales.
Responsibilities
* Manage a youth centre within the county and lead a team of youth workers.
* Ensure delivery of needs-led provision that meets the needs of young people in line with the five aims identified in the Youth Work Strategy for Wales.
* Work across different settings as service needs dictate, including street-based work when required.
* Within the role, weekends and evenings may be required (minimum 2, maximum 4 evenings per week).
* Possess a full valid driving licence (desirable).
* Greet customers through the medium of Welsh (a requirement for this post).
* Protecting children, young people or adults at risk is a core responsibility for all council employees.
* Enhanced DBS check with Children's Barred List is a requirement for this post.
* Weekend working is a requirement of this post.
Qualifications & Requirements
* Ability to work in a variety of settings as dictated by service needs.
* Welsh language ability to greet customers (required).
* Enhanced DBS with Children's Barred List is required.
* Valid driving licence is a requirement for this post (note: driving licence is explicitly stated as a requirement).
