Project Engineer Job Description
Our client, a leading local engineering company, is seeking an experienced Project Engineer to join their team. This is a fantastic opportunity for the right candidate to advance their career.
Main Responsibilities
1. Collaborate with the Engineering Team to develop project plans and budgets, ensuring milestones are met.
2. Source suppliers based on the bill of materials and engineering specifications; liaise with design engineers on alternatives and variations.
3. Purchase equipment in compliance with budget and company procedures.
4. Distribute documentation and drawings to subcontractors, ensuring correct revisions for fabrication or assembly.
5. Conduct regular visits to subcontractors to coordinate and review production.
6. Coordinate with the design team to meet specifications and perform quality checks prior to handover.
7. Ensure FAT tests and quality checks are documented and snags are cleared before products leave for site.
8. Coordinate site preparation activities, including surveys, haulage, safety documentation, lifting, and client handover.
9. Prepare, schedule, and monitor projects, adhering to the document control process.
10. Communicate with clients and project participants to interpret needs and present solutions.
11. Manage contracts, including producing and responding to compensation events and notices.
Candidate Requirements
* Engineering qualification with experience in a related discipline.
* Knowledge of SolidWorks / AutoCAD and project experience.
* Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
* Availability to travel across the UK.
