Health, Safety and Environmental Advisor - Construction Benefits: Basic salary Pension (5% EE matched by 5% ER after probation) Life Assurance (2 x basic salary) Income Protection (50% salary paid on joining pension scheme) Healthcare Well-being (EAP and engagement/social events) Annual Leave (21 days) The Role: If you are an experienced and talented Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) Advisor interested in working with great leaders in high performing teams within the construction industry then this is the role for you REPORTING TO: Health and Safety Manager & Project/Contracts Manager Purpose of Role The HSE Advisor is responsible for directing the implementation of the HSE strategy on Projects while ensuring that a Positive Culture is maintained. Role Responsibilities Work closely with operational team and support the development and monitoring of safe systems of work and risk assessments to ensure all project activities are adequately planned and executed. Auditing and Reporting. Ensuring Projects are audited; indices are tracked, and non-conformances are addressed. Lead and influence H&S culture across all Projects. Support and engage the workforce in the identification of occupational health safety and environmental risk and coach them in risk mitigation. Promote and reinforce positive attitudes and behaviours amongst the workforces. Ensure projects operate in compliance with all statutory requirements and best practice. Highlight and Advise on HSE related issues from pre-constructionto completion of all associated project works. Implement company policy, procedures, and management systems. Advise & assist site management in drafting and communicating of company policies and procedures. Support the development and delivery of the project induction and other communications to the workforce. Provide advice, guidance, and instruction in all health & safety matters to management, safety representatives and employees (including subcontractors where appropriate). Assist Health & Safety Manager in accreditation applications Auditing and Reporting. Facilitate internal and external inspections/ audits and ensure the timely close out of any issues arising. Conduct regular inspections and site audits, reporting findings to site and senior company management. Ensure issues follow-up is required to ensure that actions are dealt with immediately. Support coordinate and lead (as necessary) the investigation of incidents to ensure effective learning outcomes and timely closure of actions. Produce High Quality reports. Identify staff training requirements and deliver where appropriate training. Promote the Company mission of being a healthy and incident and injury free workplace. Liaise with enforcement authorities and Client representative on companies behalf. Attend Start Up meetings with site teams and be an active participant. Lead Project Health & Safety Excellence The Candidate Third level qualification in Health & Safety or related discipline. 3-5 years experience working on large scale commercial/construction projects. Highly organised and capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously. Conscientious, focused and detail orientated Self-motivated and excellent communicator Ability to build relationships with all stakeholders. Full clean drivers license (preferable).
