Experienced Teaching Assistant – Sunderland
Contract: Full-time, Long-term

We’re looking for an experienced teaching assistant to join a specialist setting in Sunderland, supporting children and young people with autism and additional needs. This role is ideal for someone with strong classroom experience who wants to take the next step in their career within a nurturing, inclusive environment.
What you’ll be doing:
* Providing 1:1 and small group support for pupils with autism and complex needs
* Assisting teachers in delivering tailored lessons and interventions
* Using your skills and experience to help create a structured, supportive environment
* Working closely with SEN staff and therapists to ensure pupils thrive academically and socially
What we’re looking for:
* Previous experience as a teaching assistant, ideally within a SEND or autism-focused setting
* A calm, patient approach and the confidence to support pupils with a range of needs
* Strong communication and teamwork skills
* Reliability, flexibility, and the ability to use your initiative in the classroom
