SEN Teaching Assistant
Location: Scarborough, North Yorkshire
Start Date: ASAP / Easter 2026
Contract: Full-Time
Salary: £95 – £110 per day
Due to continued growth and the opening of additional classes, a specialist provision in Scarborough is seeking dedicated Teaching Assistants to join their expanding team. This is a fantastic opportunity to support pupils within an EYFS setting, with a strong focus on Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN) and Autism (ASC).
About the Role as a Teaching Assistant:
* Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils with additional needs.
* Support early development in communication, interaction, and emotional regulation.
* Work closely with teachers and therapists to deliver individualised learning plans.
* Use visual aids, structured routines, and sensory strategies to support engagement.
* Help create a safe, nurturing, and consistent learning environment.
Who We’re Looking For:
We welcome applicants with experience in education, but also those with transferable skills from other sectors, including:
* Care or support work (adults or children)
* Early years or nursery settings
* Youth work or community roles
* Health and social care
* Psychology or related graduate backgrounds
The Ideal Teaching Assistant Will:
* Have a genuine passion for supporting children with SEN.
* Be patient, nurturing, and resilient.
* Have an understanding of, or willingness to learn about, ASC and SLCN.
* Be confident supporting communication and early development.
* Work effectively as part of a team.
