Job Title: Contract Manager – Social Housing & FM Repairs & Maintenance\nLocation: Islington (with potential expansion to other council contracts)\nSalary: TBC – Dependent on experience\nContract Type: Full-time, Permanent\nAbout the Role\nWe are seeking an experienced Contract Manager with a proven track record in managing UK social housing contracts and commercial Facilities Management (FM) repairs\nand maintenance contracts. This is an exciting opportunity to join our growing team, initially managing a general build contract for Islington Council with the potential to\nexpand into other council frameworks.\nThe successful candidate will have strong commercial awareness, exceptional people skills, and the ability to manage contracts from inception to completion, ensuring that\nKPIs and SLAs are consistently met or exceeded.\nKey Responsibilities\nContract & Project Management\n• Oversee day-to-day management of social housing and FM repair & maintenance contracts, ensuring full compliance with contractual obligations.\n• Lead on the delivery of a general build contract for Islington Council, with scope for involvement in future council contracts.\n• Develop and implement contract strategies to meet business objectives and deliver exceptional service.\nOperational Delivery\n• Manage all operational aspects of contracts, ensuring works are delivered on time, within budget, and to agreed quality standards.\n• Use Oneserve or similar software to schedule, track, and monitor works and performance metrics.\n• Liaise effectively with subcontractors, trades, and suppliers to ensure smooth project delivery.\nPerformance & Compliance\n• Monitor and report on contract performance against KPIs and SLAs, implementing improvement plans where necessary.\n• Ensure compliance with health & safety legislation, company policies, and client requirements.\n• Conduct and chair regular contract meetings with clients, stakeholders, and internal teams.\nFinancial & Commercial Management\n• Monitor budgets, forecast costs, and ensure financial targets are met.\n• Negotiate with suppliers and subcontractors to secure best value without compromising quality.\n• Identify and mitigate potential risks to the business.\nEssential Skills & Experience\n• Proven track record of managing UK social housing and FM repairs & maintenance contracts.\n• Knowledge and practical experience of using Oneserve or similar job management software.\n• Strong understanding of KPIs and SLAs in a contractual environment.\n• Excellent negotiation and stakeholder management skills.\n• Experience liaising with subcontractors, trades, and suppliers.\n• Confident in conducting contract meetings and presenting to clients.\n• Commercial awareness with the ability to manage budgets and costs effectively.\n• Strong organisational skills with attention to detail.\nDesirable Attributes\n• Previous experience working with local authority housing departments.\n• Familiarity with procurement processes in public sector housing contracts.\n• Ability to manage multiple contracts simultaneously.\nBenefits\n• Competitive salary (TBC, dependent on experience).\n• Opportunity for career progression with the potential to manage multiple council contracts.\n• Supportive and collaborative working environment.\n• Ongoing training and professional development
