FM Supervisor
Band 3 – £24,937 – £26,598 per annum pro rata, 35 hours per week – Monday to Friday 7:30‑15:00 (½ hour break) – Saffron Waldon Community Hospital.
Responsibilities
* Co‑supervise the FM services and act as the customer’s primary point of contact for any FM‑related issues.
* Oversee cleaning, catering, portering, goods receiving, linen and laundry management.
* Support the management of all FM Assistants and ensure efficient use of staff rosters.
* Maintain a clean and hygienic environment for patients, trust staff and visitors in line with National Standards of Cleanliness.
* Ensure compliance with legislation relating to Food Safety and Health and Safety.
* Report remedial actions to the FM Supervisor and Facilities Officer and handle complaints/issues promptly.
* Authorise annual leave requests and sign agency staff timesheets before forwarding to the Facilities Officer.
* Communicate shifts to staff in a timely fashion and assist with roster planning.
* Conduct induction programmes for new staff and provide training on equipment and safe working methods.
* Ensure mandatory training, supervisions and appraisals are carried out as per Trust policy/procedure and complete all necessary documentation.
* Meet with staff returning from sick leave and complete the relevant paperwork.
* Release staff for training as required and assist with completing mandatory training via the Trust’s electronic system.
* Work either independently or as part of a team, maintaining high standards of cleaning and providing a customer‑focused service.
* Demonstrate a flexible approach, excellent interpersonal and customer skills, and the initiative to prioritise and organise duties.
Qualifications
* Right to work in the UK.
* Valid UK full driving licence – a trust vehicle will be provided.
* Experience in facilities management or a related supervisory role is desirable.
