General Cover Teacher
Location: Middlesbrough
Salary: £130-£160 a day
Start Date: September 2025

We are currently recruiting a General Cover Teacher to work in a variety of secondary schools in Middlesbrough. This is a fantastic role for teachers who enjoy variety, thrive in different classroom settings, and are eager to make a positive impact on students across multiple subjects.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide high-quality cover lessons across a range of subjects in the absence of the regular class teacher
* Follow pre-prepared lesson plans to ensure students remain on track with their learning
* Manage classroom behaviour and create a positive and respectful learning environment
* Support students of all abilities, offering encouragement and assistance where needed
* Mark and provide feedback on students' work, ensuring accurate record-keeping
* Work effectively with school staff to ensure a smooth transition between lessons
About you:
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent (Essential)
* Experience teaching in a secondary school setting (Desirable)
* Strong classroom management skills and the ability to engage students quickly
* Flexibility, reliability, and a positive approach to new challenges
* Excellent communication skills and the ability to adapt to various school environments
* An ability to work independently and as part of a team
Requirements
* Have a fully enhanced DBS on the update service or be willing to apply for one
* Provide at least two professional employment references
