Second line Technical Support (Desktop Migration)

***SC Cleared***

Location options: Cardiff, Bristol, Feltham, Cheltenham, Brockworth (Multiple roles available)

Initial contract: 6 months with good scope for extension

Rate: £300 - £350 per day (Umbrella-PAYE)

Our client, a blue chip company, is seeking several Second Line Technical Support Engineers for a long-term project. The role involves managing desktops, including PC imaging, device management, and troubleshooting hardware, networks, systems, and applications.


Key Responsibilities:

1. Provide break/fix support for desktops, laptops, and peripherals
2. Re-image devices and reinstall/configure applications as needed
3. Troubleshoot Windows OS, hardware, and enterprise applications
4. Coordinate with third-party vendors for escalations and hardware replacements
5. Document issues and resolutions in ITSM systems (ServiceNow, Remedy, etc.)


Key Skills & Experience:

* Strong understanding of PC hardware, software, OS, directory services, printing, and applications
* Application support including global applications; coordinate with second-level team for issue resolution
* Experience with desktop/laptop installation, upgrades, and configuration
* Printer support, network configuration, driver installation, vendor coordination
* Proficiency with Windows 10/11, Android, Mac OS, MS Office, LAN/WAN, Wi-Fi, VOIP, and software installations
* Onsite and remote end-user support
* Ticket management ensuring resolution within SLA, with proactive communication
* Development of documentation, SOPs, KB articles
* Vendor coordination for hardware support and repairs
