We are seeking experienced nursing assistants to join our Central Staffing Float Pool at Waldo Hospital

The Central Staffing Float Pool offers a unique opportunity for experienced CNAs to expand their knowledge base and sharpen their skill set. CNAs are given the opportunity to train on an array of units at Waldo Hospital. The assortment of floors and units assigned will provide an opportunity to practice in various clinical areas throughout the hospital. A nurse working in the Central Staffing Float Pool must possess the ability to think quickly on their feet, with remarkable adaptability and critical thinking expertise. The ability to transition between departments including but not limited to medical-surgical, critical care, inpatient behavioral health, and emergency is essential when working in Central Staffing.
For a limited time, MaineHealth is offering sign-on bonuses for Clinical Nursing Assistants:
* 0-1 years of experience eligible for $2,500 (full-time)
* 1+ years of experience eligible for $4,000 (full-time)
Eligible candidates are hired (offer accepted) into a Full or Part-time CNA position. Bonus amounts are prorated for Part-time hires; per diem hires are ineligible.
Current MaineHealth member employees are ineligible; former MaineHealth members are ineligible until more than 6 months of separation from employment.
Summary: This position consists of 24 hours per week, night shifts.
The Certified Nursing Assistant - Acute Care Float T2 role assists in the administration of nursing care to designated patients under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. Performs a variety of direct and indirect care duties. This role will float and work within various hospital inpatient settings and the Emergency Department.
Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs):
1. Education: High School diploma or GED preferred. Completion of a Certified Nursing Assistant training course required.
2. License/Certifications: Current applicable state license as a Certified Nursing Assistant required. Current BLS certification required—must obtain within 30 days of start date.
3. Experience: Two years of experience required, with at least one year in an acute care setting.
