Kitchen Assistant | Up to £30,000 base salary | Chichester

At Nature’s Way Foods, our mission is to be “The Best at Fresh.” We’re looking for a dedicated Kitchen Assistant to support our Development Kitchen and wider Innovation Team in creating fresh, high-quality food that inspires our customers.
Working closely with our Senior Innovation Chef and Development Chef, you’ll play a vital role in ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of the Development Kitchen — maintaining high standards of organisation, hygiene, and efficiency. From managing ingredients to supporting sample preparation and tastings, you’ll help bring innovative ideas to life.

Key responsibilities
6. Support the Senior Innovation Chef in the daily running of the Development Kitchen
7. Maintain high standards of cleanliness, organisation, and food safety
8. Manage ingredient and consumable stock levels, ensuring adequate supplies at all times
9. Order ingredients and consumables, following business processes and cost guidelines
10. Receive and store deliveries correctly, ensuring traceability and compliance with food safety standards
11. Manage washing up, cleaning schedules, and waste disposal
12. Maintain kitchen equipment to ensure it’s clean, safe, and in good working order
13. Assist with the preparation and presentation of product samples and tastings
14. Support internal tastings and customer visits with accurate, high-quality sample preparation
15. Follow hygiene, allergen, and food safety standards in line with company and legal requirements
16. Work collaboratively across the Innovation Team, providing flexible support during busy periods such as customer presentations or factory trials
Requirements
17. Previous experience in a kitchen environment (development, catering, or production) desirable
18. Good understanding of kitchen operations, hygiene, and food safety principles
19. Strong organisational and time management skills
20. Reliable, self-motivated, and detail-oriented
21. Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
22. Basic IT skills for ordering, stock management, and record keeping
23. Food hygiene qualification (Level 2 or equivalent) preferred
24. Positive, proactive, and flexible attitude with a passion for maintaining high standards
25. Strong communication skills to communicate with both internal and external stakeholders
