A well-established, privately owned main contractor is seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to take full commercial responsibility for a £30m+ residential development based in Maidstone, Kent.
This is a long-term, site-based role offering genuine ownership of a sizeable project, without the bureaucracy typically associated with PLC housebuilders. You’ll be the lead commercial presence on site, working closely with the project and site teams from early stages through to final account.
Key Responsibilities
* Senior QS, reporting to the Commercial Manager
*
Procurement and management of subcontract packages
*
Preparation of valuations, cost reports, and forecasts
*
Managing variations, change control, and final accounts
*
Working closely with the Site Manager and Project Manager to drive performance
*
Leading and mentoring an Assistant Quantity Surveyor
*
Attending site and commercial meetings
*
Ensuring commercial compliance with company procedures
Requirements (Essential)
*
Proven experience operating as a Senior Quantity Surveyor
*
Main contractor background is essential
*
Experience delivering £20m+ projects
*
Strong contractual and commercial knowledge
*
Comfortable working in a predominantly site-based role
*
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
